Dry gas seal is a type of non-contact, clean gas seal that creates a film seal between the two sides of the seal. This solution is widely used for centrifugal compressors, pipeline compressors and turbines in the oil and gas, petrochemical industries, with the advantages of low leakage, small friction and high reliability.
When the axle rotates, the axle brings gas into the gap and creates a lifting force that pushes the two sides of the gap apart, the gap only a few micrometers. Because there is no contact during operation, the gap almost doesn’t wear. When the machine stops, the torch presses the two sides together to keep it tight.
Single configuration for clean, low-pressure gas. The tandem configuration consists of a primary and a reserve shovel, which is the most popular option for hydrocarbon gas. The dual configuration uses a blocking gas (usually nitrogen) when technology leakage is not allowed out. The separation seal in the form of a carbon circle protects the drive from leakage gas and lubricant.
The gas panel consists of a filter, pressure valve, flow clock and pressure differential sensor to provide clean, dry gas for waste and early warning when there is an abnormality. When the gas is condensed, heat tracing is required. The design often refers to standards such as API 692 and API 617.
Natural gas compressors, synthetic gases, hydrogen gases, CO2, high oven gases and compression stations on the gas pipeline.
The exhaust gas must be clean, dry and have a higher pressure than the exhaust chamber. Leak flow and pressure difference must be monitored, so as to avoid the fluid from entering the exhaust when the machine starts and stops. Periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer will prolong the life of the exhaust.
